High quality mp3 player for the money |
I have no big complaints with my iRiver player so far. The only trouble I ran into was with the software that it came with: it didn't stay installed between the first and second times that I connected my player, so I had to do some trouble-shooting to get things back in order. I think it may have just been my computer, though, so that is not necessarily a negative aspect of the package.
Otherwise, the player works and sounds great. I run with mine on the arm-band that is included, and it's very nice. I had to buy new headphones that actually stayed in my ears while running, though. But otherwise, the sound is awesome and it powers even my large Koss stereophones to the point of satisfaction. I would recommend this player, as I researched other players in the price range and found this one to be the most praised among them. I would buy it again if I did it all over. |

Great Little Toy |
| I love light weight and small size. Great alternative to iPod if you don't need the memory. The buttons weren't as difficult as some reviews make them out to be. I've had it for a month or so and just found the one drawback I don't like and hadn't read about. You can't move mp3's from the iRiver onto your computer. Some sort of copyright business. I pulled music off my friends computer in Sweden and then couldn't put it onto my computer once I returned home. Oh well. Still and awesome product. |

I bought it to listen to books |
Our local library is part of the Clevnet system, so I found I could download a great selection of books for free. After downloading them to the computer, I sync them to my iRiver and listen to them at will. I had hoped to be able to listen to them as I mowed our acres of lawn each week, but unfortunately I find that the mower is too loud for that (maybe I need better earphones??) I did buy the accessory that allows me to listen to the book in the car over the radio...which I really enjoy. Much better than getting the books on tape or CD and having to listen to them and return before a fine is due (ask me how I know that!). A big book syncs very quickly. Right now I have 5 books synced on it, waiting for me to listen to them.
If I have one complaint is would be that it is not easy to skip forward or back in the book. If it were easier, I would give it a five star rating.
The small size is great to carry in my pocket...or wear around my neck on the lanyard that came with it. And it runs a long time on one easily replaced battery. |
