AWESOME COMBO

Having a cable modem and wireless router in the same unit is great. Now my surge suppressor is not filled with power bricks and wasted outlets. The power brick that comes with this unit has a cord extending from it so you have space to plug in other things into the power strip. As far as connectivity, I didn't have any major problems. It took about 30 minutes to hook up to Comcast, although it was not due anything on my side. In the previous reviews, they recommended to disable the firewall and NAT routing. I didn't have to do neither. At first I wasn't able to get a WAN IP, so the Comcast rep was giving me all sorts of instructions and suggestions. When I told them I have to disable my firewall and NAT routing, they said OK and to restart my pc. Lo and behold, the internet came up quicker than ever. All this, and I didn't really disable the firewall or NAT routing, I just told them I did. They gave me all this mumbo jumbo so that they make you think they are gods once the internet came up. However, it all boils down to them actually registering your modem......that's all. Be persistent and make sure they register your modem but be nice, or else. Other than that, they try to make you frustrated for the first couple of minutes. I am very satisfied with this gateway. Also, the Notebook adapter (WPC54G) was installed and running in less than 5 minutes. My wireless network is fast.

Doesn't work with Adelphia

Adelphia in Colorado uses some different non-standard encoding/whatever, and this cable modem will not work with their service...Seems like a great piece of hardware other than that. It was tough to get all set up for wireless, and the local network. It just didn't work where a motorola surfboard sb5100 works fine now.

I have to agree with everything that Todd Osborne mentions in his review.

This is the unit I am recommending to all my friends.

It just works. Just like Appple computers, which Linksys does not support. However I needed no support to get my Powerbook working wirelessly with this unit. So if you are thinking of using this with a Mac, and are worried about support, don't worry. It will work.
